How to Apply to the Education Graduate Program

Requirements

  1. Submit the Graduate Application for Admission.
  2. $40 Application Fee
  3. Personal statement focusing on the rationale for entering the program.
  4. Unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate or graduate institutions attended. Official transcripts will be required upon acceptance to the program.
  5. Official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended for submissions to the VDOE for licensure.
  6. A minimum GPA of 2.7 (rounded) on a 4.00 grading system in major or field of interest.
  7. Results of professional teachers’ examinations prescribed by the Virginia Department of Education.
  8. Two Letters of Recommendation.
  9. Scheduled interview with the Director of the Educator Preparation Program.

International Students
Any graduate international applicants that graduated with their bachelor’s degree outside of the US, MUST have their transcripts evaluated through a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
